Nuno Empadinhas, researcher at CNC, was elected President of the Carbohydrate Group of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ) during the international GLUPOR15 and GLYCOTwinning conference, held in Coimbra from 15 to 17 September.
The GLUPOR15 congress took place at the Convento São Francisco in Coimbra, co-organized by the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra (CNC-UC) and SPQ, bringing together national and international researchers in the field of glycoscience.
The election of Nuno Empadinhas as President of the Carbohydrate Group was held during the group's general assembly at the conference. This scientific group is one of SPQ’s specialized divisions and is dedicated to promoting research in glycobiology and carbohydrate sciences.
In addition to being elected President, Nuno Empadinhas served as chair of the event, leading the scientific program of a conference that included dozens of talks, thematic sessions, and presentations by young researchers — strengthening Coimbra’s role as a hub for glycoscience research.
